Could have been called "Pathetic People" or "Useless People" because it was definitely not that funny. Main characters are mostly unlikable with very little redeeming values and this makes you not want to sit through the 2.5 hours it takes to find out that your initial dislike of them is well-founded. If Apatow was trying to demonstrate that everyone in show business is a self-absorbed, immoral and soul-less jerk, then he succeeded. To be fair, there were a few parts that were funny, but they weren't enough to remove the bad taste left by the rest of the film.

Over hyped and a waste of time. Funny People was not very funny at all. For actors that are suppose to be at the top of their game, the movie was a monumental let down. It could have been a lot shorter. The movie seemed to drag on for too long and I almost felt like leaving the theatre half way through the movie. This movie was almost as bad as “Year One”. Don’t waste your time and money.

Amazing! this movie was both heartfelt, sad at times and hilarious at others. i thought adam sandler did a fantastic job of playing a guy with almost multiple personalities (depressed jerk/comedian). seth rogen was also extremely good next to sandler. i was very glad to see a breakaway from the typical slapstick comedy and feel as though im watching something real

This movie was OKAY I found it to be funny at times, but hard to sit through at other times. The movie was WAY to lomg and I found that many of the scenes were completely pointless. It could have been 45 mins shorter at least. I did find myself laughing though..

I loved the movie, i thought it was hilarious from start to finish. The only thing that bugged me a bit was the ending because it seemed a bit sudden but other then that i loved it and am planning to see it again

Enjoyed the movie. Very good character development, enough laughs to lighten the movie up. A tad bit too long...most of the audience was jelly-legged getting out of their seats. Worth the price of admission...good story.

Honestly if I am a review for a movie, which I have never done in my life, then obviously this movie is either out of the ordinary bad or out of the ordinary good. Don't listen to what Family Guy generation has to say everyone (including cast and directors of movie), this movie was by far THE most epic orgasm of laughter in the most non-weird and non-sexual sense possible.I believe that Adam Sandler really came back with something genuine and naturally funny as opposed to his Zohan movie (sorry bra I wasn't the biggest fan of that one, still pretty jokes though). This movie was funny from beginning to finish, it was not flawed in anyway, it showed many people how funny EVERYONE in that movie

Brutal.... if you sell a film as a comedy, you would expect to see something resembling a comedy and at almost 2 ½ hours it’s painful to sit through the last hour. If you do decide to see it, bring an Indiglo watch (you’ll be checking the time when you can bail this disaster)

there were lots of funny parts but it was way too long and lots of scenes that were stupid and didnt make sense. and i dont really get the point of the movie. if i didnt read the synopsis i wouldnt know what the movie was about lol

I thought it was a great movie. Not as funny as other Aptow movies but still a great movie with a great message. As a struggleing comedian myself i really enjoyed it. It prooved that Adam sandler can actually act and not just do stupid movies (zohan was awful). The only problem I had with it is that it dragged on for too long. I would highly recommend it. Thanks tribute.ca your the bestest site in the whole world wide web!!

Yes, It is a little on the long side, and its not a comedy, its a "dramedy". It's obvisouly not like Aptow's other movies, and if you went in there thinking it would be, then no wonder it didn't live up to your expecations. Comedians usually don't make good serious movies, but this was a great balance. 4 stars Good see it

People who walk out of this movie are either dumb, or find Miley Cyrus movies transcending. It's a DRAMA with some sex jokes mixed in. Don't act like you don't like or make sex jokes. it's 18 a! Hmm soundsl like a family show to me?? um NOT!!!!!!

This movie is not as bad as some of the reviews make it to be. It's 2.5 hours long, and there are actually 2 storylines in this movie, one in the first half and then the love-story later on. I liked this movie, it's definitely not like The Ugly Truth. Unlike most of Sandler's movies, this one is NOT over the top, but rather his dramatic side. I also agree that any "parent" that takes their kids to see this type of movie should lose custody of them. 4-stars

I agree with all of the comments to date, lack of story line etc. I also would add to all that there is a lot of obvious improvisation with no script for some of the scenes. Overuse of the "F" word with no apparent fit. The story looses direction and the ending matches it.

Although it's hard to imagine, Funny People is a very good movie about life, death and p*n*s jokes. Apatow manages to get the balance right, for the most part, and Sandler hasn't been so good in a movie since he last worked with Paul Thomas Anderson. Aubrey Plaza is delightful as the girl who catches Seth Rogen's character's eye and Apatow's daughter Maude has a future as singer should she choose to go in that direction when she grows up. Rogen and Leslie Mann are also extremely good here.

Should have cut out the entire love story why develop it after the movie should end. They should have tried to find a realistic conflict to be realized. Why does every movie I look forward to always have to have a stupid love story, they are not all that interesting.

This was a very funny movie. I mean it wasnt amazing or Adam Sandlers best movie, but it was good. Seth, Adam and Leslie Mann were so good together. There are some crudity in it and profanity but for the most part it was funny.
