a fairy-tale like story set in modern times, covering the social issue of refugees. dead-pan humour, as only kaurismaki can do. endearing characters set against le havre's working-class neighbourhood. a little gem of a film.
a fantastic movie that shows the french temperament well. some may not like it because most of the people in it are over 60, but in my mind that's a plus. well filmed and some great character development.
ok movie, there were some good funny parts. got tired of reading half way through the movie..
