We don't care about Superman in this movie because we don't care about Lois, who's so annoying she ruins every scene she's in. If Supes had let her die I swear the entire audience would have stood and applauded.

i don't know.. i liked the first half of the movie. it was an attempt to make superman's story more believable, which is what nolan tries to do in his movies. but the fight back and forth between superman and general zod was painful to watch. The movie served well as a logical introduction to the superman story, an alien being hiding among humans until he is forced out of his shell by some otherworldly threat. There is a christian archetype to the superman character and that was poked at some in this movie, a saviour for mankind. but the fighting in the last half of the movie was a page out of avengers or iron man, and it turned the film to cheese. the portrayal of krypton was amazing, i mus

great action and destruction. good cast and performances. however, every attempt to add heart or emotion was rushed and disjointed, filled with shaky-cam-itis! (yes I mean when everyone is standing still...lol)

Henry Cavill embodies Superman beautifully. If you're looking for a lot action and a decent performances - this is the movie for you. If you're looking for a logical storyline and in depth character exploration - you'll be disapointed.

Since I was a kid and saw Christopher Reeves, Superman. I have loved the character, I watched the cartoons, the shows from the fifties, and of course I read the comic. In 2007 I couldn't wait for Superman Returns. And all though most people didn't like the movie. I did, but I also liked it for what it was, a tribute to the previous movies and Christopher Reeves. Tonight I watched Man of Steel, and I can say without a doubt, that this is the Superman I have always wanted to see! This is the movie I have waited for, as a fan of Superman. GO SEE THIS MOVIE! Fan or not it is a great film. Don't pay attention to the haters or the critics or anyone who thinks this is a bad movie. Please t

By far the best Superman film to date. Henry Cavill IS Superman. Russell Crowe was an amazing Jor-El and I could have watched a full movie based on him and his world of Krypton.

It was ok. Amy for lois ok, maybe superman likes older looking women. Fiora was the best kryptonian in the movie, wish there was more time involving her. Way too many boring flashbacks and looong fighting scenes.They could have put half the scenes in the deleted scenes. Movie was way too long and story line was crap. Although he was super hot!!

Worthy of being a Superman movie.. would of been a 5 star rating.. except for the fighting.. was hard to follow at times.. Henry Cavill pulled it off.. still think Christopher Reeves is better but did a great job.. Worth watching !!!!

Other Superman movies were just meh.. no great storyline, nothing. This one, on the other hand had a really interesting storyline, awesome cast, and action! Thats all you need in a movie. 5 stars hands down. Hope there's gonna be a sequel! :D

This is an adult movie for Superman fans. No cartoony cheeseball humour. Yes, it is dark but so is the subject matter. An invincible being having to learn when to harness or unleash his powers is displayed well in this movie. Yes, I agree Lois role should have been recast with someone younger and flashbacks could have been shorter. Action scenes were intense. Good effort for a new take on an old favorite. Hope the second movie rocks like The Dark Knight.

Saw it over the weekend. No doubt it was action packed! I just didn't like how the presented or revealed himself. Lois found out right a way he was Superman it was just way too soon! They could have done it in part 2. I love the action scenes but I just didn't like that it seemed that Metropolis was just in ruins, I mean it was too much for it IMO. Lois was ok, could be better but I think Amy was slightly better than Kate.

Very long movie, i wish they would of cut it down to about 1hr 45min and save the rest for dvd Uncut or something. Less third rate characters and more superman next time around. MORE superman... more.. perry white and jenny olsen are usless character, why spend 10 min on them.

I didn't leave the theater with the "wow" factor...the last movie that made me feel this way was the second dark knight movie and the avengers...I was disappointed. The action was great..but the storyline was not consistent with the comic book...

I loved this movie! The fighting did drag a little towards the end and they could have balanced that out with more character time but what I seriously can't figure out is why in a packed theater I was the only one laughing when they cracked a joke.

I gave this movie 4 stars because it WAS entertaining. Being a big Superman fan, I had to see it right away. I was disappointed with a lot of the film though. I didn't like the flashbacks, and thought the film would have been better with a more linear plot. Althouth there was a lot more shown about Krypton, it wasn't that great and seemed like a very dreary place to live and very violent! I enjoyed both Henry and Amy in their roles, but the rest of the cast was just okay for me. The movie was more violent than needed to be, and I would have enjoyed more story and less special effects!

Great take on a classic, Action packed and it still had a lot from the old movies theme wise. I just thought the fighting dragged a little too long at the end. Do yourself a favor and avoid DBOX it is actually quite distracting.
