meh, nice-looking movie, but the plot and writing were terrible. i felt like i was watching a recent m. night shyamalan movie (and i don't mean that in a good way!). if you liked his recent attempts to "make you think", then you'd probably like this movie. but if you're like me and you just roll your eyes at movies that cheaply try to explain the origins of man (and beast), you probably won't like it either. and i'm neither an athiest nor a religious fanatic, so my comments have nothing to do with being 'offended' in some way by the plot - i was just plain bored.
excellent movie. loved the end. must see if you loved aliens.
instead of going to this movie just pull out your old version oa alien and watch it. it is a much better movie, much scarier, and the characterization is much better. there were only 3 of us in the theatre, and 1 of the guys feel asleep. if i could give it a 0 star rating i would.
rating: zero! the worst movie, i have ever seen, considering that i am 60 years old, that must be pretty bad. absolutely waste of time and money!
absorbing adaptation of mary shelley's modern prometheus.
for the hardcore alien types this isn't enough but only a ‘tie over'...
maybe my expectations were too high but i found this movie a bit disappointing. it was slow and the ending was a bit unsatisfactory. there were a few good scenes though and it did set up for a sequel.
for those that didn't "get it".. well you need to appreciate that it is a perfect prequel to the first alien which scott directed. the other ones cameron took over.
anyways, an amazing effort and worth seeing again.
ps - if you're looking for a aliens ii kinda nonsense.. this is not it.
it was ok. not bad, not great. i have to admit the visuals were awesome and the acting was good but the story line was same old, same old.
