This is probably the best Civil War movie.
i didnt think this movie would be all that good, it was just another extra credit assignment for school. i really shouldnt have judged the dvd by the cover, it was really awesome..
"Ride with the Devil" was filmed near my hometown in Northwestern Missouri where the Civil War started. Most non-Missourians would think Missouri is just a midwestern state, but it has a colorful rich history along the Missouri river, it`s called "Little Dixie" because of the southern culture that was the predominant way of life brought there by the Kentucky folk who settled there. Jewel and Tobey Maguire are very true to the real people of Clay County, loosing basing the story on Frank and Jesse James who are from Kearney,MO. ***** (Five stars) Authentic war scenes. See the DVD bonus to find out how they did this. Acting first rate. Plus beautiful friendship story. This was a "sleeper." I found it on DVD when researching movies with Tobey Maguire. All of my friends give this the same high rating.
