wonderful film about a retiured cat burglar who gets a new lease on life when his son buys him a robot companion.
the film focuses on the unique friendship between frank (frank langella) and the robot (never given a name) as he discovers that its programming doesn't prevent him from returning to his former career.
the relationships frank has with his son, daughter and the town librarian are sweet but not cloying and the film explores the idea of living with alzheimers with great wit and tenderness.
one of the year's best movies.
i really enjoyed this movie. the acting was great.
very much a re-write of rise of the planet of the apes, but with robots.
