This movie had very little to offer in the way of suspense or horror. I was able to recognize an attempt at both but with no real success. If you`re looking for something scary, stick to the video games.

I like how the movie incorperated the same soundtrack as the videogame. Monsters were almost identicle and the storyline was as close as they could possibly get it. Best videogame to movie, hands down.

Some nice FX and cinematography but, man, the dialogue`s out of a high school creative writing class ... correction: most teenagers could write better than this during their spare. Too bad, there are some good people wasted: sexy Sean Bean, the underused/appreciated Alice Krige, some of the background players. And, yes, we all know little girls with long dark hair are evil ... get over it already.

Those who are familiar with the game versions of Silent Hill will recognize all the eerie creepy crawlies and dark nightmareish creatures in the movie. There are a few slow parts in the movie while plot points are being explained, and it may be confusing for people unfamiliar with the Silent Hill franchise. Otherwise the story movies along quickly as viewers are assailed with the twisted world of Silent Hill and the horror of its descent into purgatory.

Great movie! Definitely worth the time and money to watch in theatre. Even though I didn`t like the ending, the rest of the movie made up for it. Can`t wait for part 2!

Not a bad adaptation of a video game. It didn`t have nearly as a good a story as Resident Evil but was much superior to most. Amazing special effects!

Silent Hill was a decent adaptation of a video game. Great special effects and moved pretty well. The story grew a little sparse at the end but for Hollywood... not bad.

It could have been more of a triller but questions were left unanswered and although the answer is at the end it was not clear and I only realized it after discussion with a friend.

If you like the video game you will enjoy the movie. The monsters are amazing - as creepy as the video game. A job very well done, and while I`m not the type to get freaked out easily, this movie made me jump.
