It was filled with action and better yet, a deeply emotional story. Instant DVD "must have".

this movie connects so well with the original superman movies. for the ppl who think this was a ramake, this is actually a continuation of the 4th superman movie. Brandon Routh fits the role of superman very well. cant wait till the sequal.

A wonderful combination of honouring the Christopher Reeve movies as well as re-introducing this much loved character. I don`t believe that any director could have done this better than Bryan Singer.

Not being familiar with the Superman character or any of the old Superman movies, I didn`t know what to expect, but I was pleased with the movie and would like to add it to my collection of superhero movies. It was a bit long, but overall well done. And Brandon Routh`s looks don`t hurt anything either.

I thought it was the best summer movie of 2006, it wasn`t guite as great as the Late Christopher Reeves` movies but it is still SUPERMAN. Brandon Routh was excellent, surprising he looked and sound like CR. Kate (Lois Lane) was even good. I can not wait for the next Superman.

Terrific movie.I just saw it again for the second time. Great casting. I was sitting on the edge of my seat. A summer must see for the entire family.

it could have stuck more to the comic book. some movies need to stick to the original script or story line. it`s either that or change the whole thing and start a new story line. go in a new direction.

While this is a very well made movie I would say it was almost and hour too long, the movie focuses alot on the surrounding characters and not really on Superman. In my opinion the movie is primarily based on Lex Luthor and Lois Lane while that is not a bad thing it does pose a problem to comic book fans. Superman does not have a villian he can "slug it out with" therefore there is not much action. The movie focus`s on plot instead and leaves us wanting more action.

It was truly a great movie brandon routh was brillant and kevin spacey was the best Lex Luther. this movie has the best graphics and wonderful acting and has brought back Superman in more of a realistic, more fun and in a cooler way.

Great, finally brought Superman back to form rightfully making a sequal for Superman 2 so throw out Superman 3 & 4. Really just forget they ever existed.

The J-man should not have to point out the differences and the producer would do well to stay away from religious allusions. Well, perhaps Superman well equipped could accomplish a lot. Perhaps.

I didn`t think this movie was any good because you have Christopher Reeve who played as Superman. He was all grown up and then you get this young guy And young women to play the part. I find that you shouldn`t have made another superman because they can`t outplay Christopher Reeves. He was the greatest.

Initially I was dissappointed, The story- line was not true to the comic book. But, as A movie on its own, I was pleasantly surprised and pleased tht I didn`t waste $10 on another stupid movie. I enjoyed it enough that i`m going to see it in 3D at the IMax.

Great fun - much better than I expected. Super effects, Brandon Routh does a wonderful job of evoking Christopher Reeves` S-Man. The only "weak spots", I`d say, were Kate Bosworth`s rather dull, efficient, and too young Lois Lane, and for some reason, Parker Posey wasn`t her usual sparkling fun self.

I expected another bad remake but was extemely surprised at the story and quality of the film. There was non-stop action right to the end. This is an excellent movie, which even my most cynical friends enjoyed watching.

A more mature superman and less clutsy in his Clark Kent role. It depicted a man searching for his identity and not being able to focus on his role in life other than saving others in various perils. Lost in his own personal life without much hope of change. Still holding a torch for Lois Lane who now will never be his wife whose husband appears to be a good guy.

A very good movie. Not my favourite this summer, but still really really good - I give it 4 out of 5 stars. It`s great to see a comic book story done this well.

I find it hard to accept the movie Superman, as I greew up with the comics. He was a man of steel...smart, super fast,...not an emotional basket case that Hollywood has made him as a modern day man.

I thought the movie was very different from the other versions of the Superman series. The super effects and characters in the movie brought out a certain surreal effect. The actor who played Luther did an excellent job in playing the his bad boy character. There was a real sense of eerieness and the younger version of Superman reminded me of the television series from the 1990`s.

i was a fan of the original set of Superman movies (yes, even Superman III and IV). it was a nice touch to add the nostalgia in this movie, like the theme song. i can`t imagine a different theme song for Superman. the flight and hovering sequences looked flawless and the cast was great. Brandon Routh looked and even sounded like Christopher Reeves when he was Clark Kent...creepy.

usually I wouldn`t give such a high rating, but this movie I must admit had it all. I was a little nervous to see what they would do to the new superman movie, but they managed to pull it off. It was funny, I like how Lois got "owned" all the time, getting smashed here and there. The bullet in the eye part was awesome! Not to mention Superman`s thunder-thighs *le sigh*. Kevin Spacey was brilliant as well. Special effects, although very obvious, were still very impressive....like his physique! Made me want to go and read the comic books. <3 A.K.
