I fell in love with Bryce Dallas Howard in this movie.

The movie was good in the begining to the middle, but I didn`t really like the ending.

I am a big fan of Shyamalan, but this movie was not good at all. I don`t feel like listing all the reasons why it doesn`t nearly measure up to The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs. Some scary moments, but it doens`t stick with you and get under your skin. Even the scariest moments are forgetable. There are some good ideas thrown around, but nothing really came together. There is one profoundly shocking moment that shows us that Shymalan is brilliant and will get out of this mess. There is even one funny moment. Shymalan had a good idea here and the twist could have worked, but he just didn`t do a good job here. I`ll give him two stars only

i loved this movie...all you idiots who said it was bad only say that because you didnt understand the concept of this film or the twist for that fact...night shyamalan`s movies are the greatest!

I have never been so disappointed walking out of a theater in my life. This movie is so misleading, and it just drags on. The people who say this movie requires you to THINK...WHAT IS THERE TO THINK? This movie gave you nothing to think about except what you`re going to make for dinner tomorrow night when the family comes over. I will never watch this movie again in my life.

I absolutely loved this movie. It`s smart and very original. The location, the dialoge, the custumes all came together very beautifully. The cast was very believing. I`m glad to see a movie which didn`t contain all A list stars, because it makes it that much more believable. "The Village" was in no way predictable, a definate dose of freshness.

This is an example of Hitchcock at his finest moment. Shyamalan is cleary in a class of his own.

Shyamalan`s talent is remarkable. In spite of some negative reviews, I decided to see the film. This movie was outstanding. The whole cast was amazing. It was refreshing to see a movie with originality. This film was woven together with great skill. It does not depend on mindless techniques such as grotesque violence and gore to hold the viewer`s attention.

Enjoyed this movie and discussing it at length later. If you are expecting a horror film, this isn`t it. It is listed as a thriller, not horror. The trailers are misleading. Just sit back and enjoy the film and all it`s twists.

great movie. the twist is PERFECT and so subtle, only few people will realize it... (for those of you who dont realize where it was, it is for a few seconds when m night makes his usual cameo) thats not giving anything away, but great movie, going again tonight.

it is obvious that people have become accustomed to watching blood and guts splatter on the big screen...there is more to life people! just because you use big words on your comments does not mean that you are smart. if you can sit back and watch a movie that can and will make you think about the society we live in today and actually UNDERSTAND what is going on...then you are a smart person...for the real smart people out there..go see this movie you will not regret it :)

i am so mad at these idiotic people who are saying the movie diddnt add up if you would just get over the fact of the twist you would take the time to see the whole movie adds up 100% maybe your just to stupid to understand the complex plot to the story!!!

It was amazing. Not as "freaky" as other M. Night Shyamalan films, but definitely spooky in parts. Highly recommend it to others. I have to see it again to pick up on the nuances.

m. night shamalan is a genius. to have continue to come up with such thought provoking films boggles the mind. the fact that it goes by unappreciated and disregarded as a great product is more astonishing. the village is a film only to be understood by intellectuals and anyone who doesnt reallize its art is clearly just a village idiot.

Simply Fantastic Movie! however if you wanted to see an "scary movie" then you probably wont get what you expected. This movie has depth beyong many other movies that come out today. The atmosphere in the movie is simply fantastic, and the performences coudn`t have been any better. Very rarely do movies come out that truly stand out from the rest, this is one of them. Things are far deeper than they appear.

I have to say I was quite disappointed with this movie. The acting was really good, but the story line wasn`t overly thrilling. It did have some scary parts in it that made me jump, but found the ending to be somewhat of a letdown. It didn`t make me gasp like `Sixth Sense` nor did it leave me on the edge of my seat like `Signs`. I had big expectations going into the movie given the director and all, but he didn`t live up to them this time around...maybe next time.

I cannot understand why anyone would not enjoy seeing this movie. I believe it to be more a psychological thriller than horror. And any of you who said you figured out the ending quickly are full of beans. It really made you think-it was one of those movies that had you on the edge of yourseat, exspecially when Ivy was alone in the woods. I was amazed at Bryce Dallas Howard and Joaquin Phoenix`s performances and I tell you, the speech Luscious gave to Ivy on the porch made me hold my breath-my God how romantic!

I agree with the person who said this is one of the greatest movies of the year. It`s so very different from everything else out there. The twists are amaising. People who can thing beyond "bang-bang" and "bum-bum" will love this movie. Everybody whos brain cell count is low and/or lacks any imagination will hate it because they`ll fail to analyze it and think about the message. It is amaising how we are simply a product of what we are brought up to be and nothing more.

i loved the village. it just has twists that you wud have never guessed. you watch the movie with one thought in the beginning but end the movie with a way different description of the story. once you learn the first twist, you`ll never be able to leave until you hear it all. it leaves a question in ur head. how can a person even think of such a story.

This was a good movie. It was a movie for people who don`t just want to see a ridiculous summer action-packed blockbuster that has no story line. This is why The Village is getting such bad reviews from a lot of people. It`s because they`re idiots. The Village was a thought-provoking film filled with a lot of points and questions about the nature of humans and the society we live in. Very well-done movie. Too bad most people take it for face-value and don`t even try to understand the messages in The Village. I guess they`re just like the villagers in the movie. Ignorance is bliss.

I am a big fan of M. Night Shyamalan and I must say that I was very disappointed with this film. I found it very predictable and knew the ending a quarter of the way into the movie! The only thing good about this flick were the performances of the enire cast. Bryce Dallas Howard really shines in her acting debut!

i went in thinking it would be a horror movie, and i was laughing and yawning throughout the whole thing, it was so boring. it was almost like some weird love story. it was a very interesting story though, and ron howards daughter did very well, but it was not what i expected. 2.5/5

Ithink that the village was an amasing piece of work.I was imaginitive and riviting.The best movie I have seen in years. I haven`t been frightened by a movie that i can remember until I watched The Village. A wonderful movie sure to be the years best!

The movie was totally not what i expected. It disappointed me because I thought it would have been much scarier. It had alot of slow parts and talking which made it boring. The trailer was very misleading and it only showed the good scary parts of the movie, which was very few in the first place.

MIND-BENDING ORIGINALITY! M.Night, stuck to his guns once again, and written a universal peice of Cinema. Underneath all the costumes and masks, their is a frightened, valurable person, waiting to be saved. Sometimes, it goes to far and becomes the darker-side of human psyche. This film truly shows a side of that scary face. What an acheivement!

Brilliant. Risk, stretch and imagination combined together in the mind of Shyamalan produce another spectacular piece of work. Yes, the trailer tricks its audience into believing this film is a delicious horror, and we expect nothing but the best from Shyamalan. However, if you`re a patient thinker, you`ll appreciate the story and its devices from a completely alternate angle. Shyamalan takes fright, horror, thrill etc., turns it 90 degrees and brings us elsewhere. A powerful, beautiful film not to be missed.
