Expected better. The ending was a real let down.... people were asking me after the movie what the ending was all about? They wondered if they missed something. Not bad for a "summer popcorn movie" but don`t go see it with high expectations.

I`m amazed that I stayed awake through the entire movie. The only things that kept me awake was the snoring from the seats behind me and the hope that something interesting would happen. It’s amazing that someone actually spent money to make this predictable drivel.

I loved this movie! I think justin chatwin and tom cruiz and dakota fanning did a really great job in it! i want to see this again! i love justing chatwin! a.k.a. robbie ferrier!!

In my opinion, this was a really good movie. I guess if you haven`t seen those movies where its like aliens versus human, or some sort of other creatures wanting to destroy the world, then this movie will interest you. I mean, people has been saying how its all the same, but since I haven`t seen those types of moves, i guess i can pretty much say this was a really well written and done movie.

oh my , this was an amazing movie! I loved it soo much . Me and my friends are your average teenage girls , and we didn`t want to see this movie in the first place. But we did , and we all loved it soo much! We`re gonna go see it again! :D :D

Disappointed! I love Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise, they both do great work! This movie had great characters, a great story, unbelievable action, effects and suspense! It was setup to become an awesome movie...then it ended. I wanted to defend it, but if you go to watch movies to be entertained, which most people are, you`ll leave feeling unsatisfied and confused. Questions brought up during the movie, never get answered and the ending leaves a lot to be desired. Good remake of an old classic. Stayed relatively true to the original story line, with modern additions. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen.

One of the ultimate BEST remakes I have ever seen.....and I have been going to cheapy Tuesdays for the last 15 years at least twice a month, ..... you do the numbers! Unreal special effects totally evocative of the original play, but commencing after the part where the radio announcer begins to warn the audience that this is for entertainment purposes.... H.G. Wells would have been proud to see this movie! It is often too difficult to reproduce visually on screen, what ones imaginations` does so easily when reading.....Congrats to the director & crew. Waste of time. Cliche alien look. Unjustified long planned alien conspiracy theory. Silly ending. Bad acting. Wouldn`t recommend even renting it, let alone going to the movies to see it.

Tom Cuise is an overated actor that has not done a good movie since top gun and days of thunder. He runs around with his head cut off, and does nothing of significance. Atleast in the original it was a scientist trying to get to a lab to create the bacteria. This movie seems to be one big special effect that will bring attention to his scientology BS and all him to get attention with Katie Holmes. Horrible movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was the BEST movie I have seen in a while!!! It had me sitting on the edge of my seat for most of the movie. This movie is best seen on the big screen, don`t wait til it comes out on DVD!!! You`ll lose some of the effects!!!

I really felt traumatized after this movie. It was interesting all the way through and it kept me on the edge of my seat or hiding behind my hushand. I did enjoy watching it though.

Well I thought the movie was stupid. Aliens observing us for billions of years? And the suddenly get angry at us because we controlled the world? look the ending made no sense i understand the bird part but the real clincher of the movie was crap. there were some funny parts like floating bodys flowing down a stream but that was basicly it. thats why i think this movie diserves a 2 star rating

Overall I liked it, but really not up to all the hype. The ending was very similar to the original but could of been done in a less anti-climatic way. Every main character in the story surviving was highly unbelievable.

War of the Worlds wasn`t bad, but it did disappoint me al ittle bit. I expected an awesome action epic, but all I got was a boring and choppy action- drama. In its limp-wristed defense, the acting was good and the special effects were amazing, and it is worth seeing in the theatres.( It made alot of money on opening weekend that`s for sure. 113 million is so much, even George Lucas must have been sweating.)

Vey poor! In my opion folks I would get Jeff Wayne`s musical verision of this classic HG Wells masterpiece rather than watch this. Tom`s acting was ok - but the supporting actors where all rather poor with Tom trying to carry the film by himself - Im afraid this is a one to miss.

If you actually payed attention to the movie you would understand the ending, and beleive or not the beginning scene with all the bacteria was a major part of the story. Just because a movie doesn`t have mindless explosion just for the sake of making something blow up doesn`t mean that it`s a bad movie, it actually makes it better, it pulls you in and makes you pay attention. The ending was great because it was unexpected, it wasn`t the tipicle "The all-mighty americans destroy the aliens with there superior army in a hail of gunfire and explosions."

Very Entertaining 4.5 stars The best thing about of this movie that people missed was the realisation that this guy might actually care about his kids. It wasn`t so much an Alien action type of movie but a thriller with a heart. If you`re expecting a dumb but action pack movie like Indepedance Day, don`t bother. If you want a movie with breathtaking visuals and thrilling scenes and a good story, this is the one for you. OK i`ll admit they could have made the movie 20 minutes longer and make the ending a little more rewarding but that`s just a small part of it. Like I said, the Aliens were just a supporting cast Tom and the kids were the Star

I can`t believe most people gave this movie one star. It was spectacular. I would actually pay to see it again because I`m sure there are things that I missed. My mother and father went to see because I recommended it. My father loved it, my mother didn`t like it only because of the "edge of your seat" feeling throughout the entire film. I would highly recommend this movie. Probably the best movie I`ve seen since Lord of the Rings. Not that I`m comparing the two.
