Many people are critical of this movie, but it is truth. Not every movie needs to be frivolous! This is an event that we must never forget. I laughed, cried and remembered those who lost there lives. The world and people do have compassion and care! I highly recommend that everyone sees this movie.
Cheap way to make money.all the profit earned off this movie should go towards family and friends of people who lost family and friends. I agree why relive this disaster.
A lot of people think this was a stupid idea to make a movie about such a tragedy then bring bad memories to those who have experienced it or has lost someone because of this tragedy. I wouldn`t know exactly how it feels to be reminded of this because personally, I don`t know any one who have died or have experienced september eleventh 2001. I understood the pain this has caused and I understand what the movie is trying to bring out. I would not say this movie deserves five stars. I think four stars because this movie has a lot of meaning to it. Emotionally and Physically. Good job.
good
Nothing about that was Oscar worthy. If America gives that the best movie Oscar, then the Oscars have nothing to do with celebrating great art. That was a standard tug-at-your-heartstrings movie at best.
This is a must see movie for everyone. Although I found it difficult to sit through because of my memories of the event, I think Oliver Stone did an excellent job.
god bless them all.also the familys but this was not nessary to have everyone live it over one more time and make us all feel angry again and scard of others who live in our communitys ,very poorly done perhaps only the name of the movie will selll seats or else it is a flop in many ways.....................
I thought Oliver Stone did a very tasteful job on this film considering the horrific circumstances.
I`d just like to point out, I`ve never seen this movie but its not just supposed to be about 9/11, it`s more about those two survivors and i`d like to say to the person who said that people shouldn`t be amking money off this and that non famous actors should have been used, Oliver Stone asked one of the men who really was trapped inside if he`d like to play himself but the man turned him down because he said it`d be too emotional
i like that facted that didnt see the world trade going down but the story of the officers them selves was amazing, inspiring and in facted a miracle all on it own. For having a major tradegy myself in my life it gave me a reason that i have it pretty good considering all else
OLIVER STONE SHOULD BE COMMENDED FOR THIS GRIPPING, HEARTBREAKING, INTENSE MOVIE. FOR ALL YOU WHO DIDN`T LIKE IT, YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER IT WAS A TRUE STORY!! I CAN GUARANTEE, ALL WHO THOUGHT THIS MOVIE WAS BORING PROBABLY LOVED FAST & THE FURIOUS T-DRIFT! YOU SHOULD STICK TO YOUR CAR CHASE, BULLETS FLYING MOVIES!!!
Was this movie really necessary? Don`t tell me it`s a tribute to the victims of 9/11. The real tribute is the memorial which will be constructed at ground zero. This movie is only trying to capitalize on the tragedy. The same goes for "United 93." Yes, other movies based on real disasters have been made in the past, but 9/11 is still a recent event. Plus, it`s a different type of tragedy. =FC=
First Oscar film of the year !Quite astonishing !
I recently saw World Trade Center and that fateful day in September 2001 was brilliantly captured by Oliver Stone. He deserves an Oscar for this very emotional film.
Id just like to start off by saying that we are deffinately living in the entertainment age, so stop whining about people making a movie about 9/11. As for the movie itself I dont feel it had enough to do with the tragedy. It was a movie about two guys, not about 9/11. On that note, maybe you should wait for it to come out on DVD.
After reading through all the comments to see if I`d like to watch this movie or not, all I really decided was that there are SO MANY illiterate people.
INTENSE, MOVING, NEEDED TO BE TOLD.
absolutely amazing!
I would wait for the DVD. Very slow but a times touching.
What happened on 911 was more than 2 cops stuck under the towers. I was really disappointed.
As much of a genuine and horrific tragedy 911 was, this movie is almost as bad. Save money, skip it
It must be nice for Oliver Stone to live off past glories, because after this trash, and Alexander, it is hard to understand how he continues to get work.
terrible! I would have rather watched paint dry!
two words, B0RING & DEPRESSING. Sure thee are the obligatory nice moments at the end, but unless your idea of a great movie is watching two guys laying in rubble and talking for what seemed to be about 36 hours, skip it. How does this idiot oliver stone continue to be able to work?
A very powerful and emotional rendition of the actual events
AM I THE ONLY ONE on the world wide web who thinks that this movie is the biggest piece of garbage ever?! I mean for ANY director, especially Oliver Stone. It was the worst acting I have ever seen and i have lost almost all hope for Nicolas Cage`s future career. Fore shame on anyone who thinks this movie was good. (Stone, you should have stopped at N.B.K)
Amazing story of a small portion of America`s saddest day. Cudos to all the brave men and women who went into the buildings to help. Very good movie and a very nice tribute to all who lost their lives! R.I.P
i won`t go to see this movie. i recall that day like it was yesterday and i can still see people jumping to their deaths. i say a documentary about the heros of that day. i`d rather watch that again than see WTC - but i can`t even do that. too sad. too much death.
Well done job of trying to put a human face on a sad part of American history.
The movie was worthwhile, but brought back alot of sad memories of 9/11
good movie but why should anyone make money out of such a tragedy? They shouldnt have used famous actors.
too many world trade centre movies.
Slow, and boring, not a good movie, save your money. Trst me I want mine back!
Excellent! For someone who was in the Trade Center in June 2001 and many times before then, the film definitely hit home personally and memorably.
A difficult film for suvivors of 911 to watch.
Excellent movie, very well done and realistic, Oliver Stone is to be commended for his portral of the events of 911.
I think it was a very good movie
It deserves an Academy Award for best film of the year. Good performances by all the actors .
Good but not from Oliver Stone who you`d expect a movie to be either atrocious or really great, usually really great.
A sad event, however cudos for the brave men and women who went into the buildings to try to help. A great telling of a small take of the day.
A good rental movie - don`t need to see it on the big screen.
I think if you`re going to complain about how the movie is just capatalizing off of people`s tragedies then you probably shouldn`t have supported your theory by going to see the movie.
Ok, so on top of the Bush government and the Christian fascist getting what they want from 9’11 (military power, political dominance, economical power, etc), now Hollywood has to cashing as well?? How about donating the proceeds to the victims of this human tragedy (both 9’11 victims and victims of the ongoing war on “terror”, actually, it should be called the “war OF terror”)????
One of the best films I have seen.
I cried.... It was very so real....
I think the directors of all these re-enacted tragedies are trying to show people what really happened from actual witnesses...also they are showing how good most people have it..people on here sayin o yah these guys r juss makin a profit need to be more open minded
Very emotional
they should have waited some more years to put it out
This is certainly one of the best films of the year. It deserves an Academy Award for best film of the year. Good performances by all the actors especially Nicholas Cage.
The movie was made with the blessing of the survivors portrayed in the movie. Now, maybe people will stop saying it was all made up.
