Stargazing is a favourite past time for fans during the Toronto International Film Festival but fans don't have to wait until the fest begins to spot their favourite stars. Torontonians have already witnessed some of Hollywood's hottest stars this summer.
Generating a lot of buzz since it began shooting in July, Sarah Polley’s new movie, Take this Waltz, has wrapped up filming in Toronto, according to the Toronto Film & Television office.
The film, written and directed by Polley, centers around a young woman whose struggles with infidelity which leads her to realize that she may be addicted to the honeymoon period of her relationships.
The movie stars Michelle Williams, Sarah Silverman and Seth Rogen, who were spotted filming scenes around Toronto in August. Williams was also photographed walking around Toronto with daughter Matilda Rose Ledger. Williams also co-stars with Canadian Ryan Gosling in Blue Valentine, set to make its Canadian debut at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
Filming of Take this Waltz headed to Cape Breton late last week and wrapped up yesterday. The film is expected to be released in the fall of 2011 or spring 2012, according to the the Cape Breton Post.
Polley’s directorial debut, Away from Her (2007), starring Gordon Pinsent and Julie Christie, was nominated for two Oscars.
Also seen around Toronto this summer was Katie Holmes, who was spotted with daughter Suri Cruise on a trip to Centre Island for some playtime. Holmes was on a break from filming the miniseries The Kennedy’s.
