After a 13-year hiatus from filmmaking, director Whit Stillman is bringing his film Damsels in Distress to this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. The story focuses on the lives and personalities of several privileged American youth in an East Coast university.
Stillman talks to Toni-Marie Ippolito of Tribute about the film, how his leading cast played out, and why people in North America are too serious.
