Jim Field Smith directs the film Butter about the intense, high-stakes world of competitive butter carving in a small Midwest town. Not to worry -- no excessive amounts of butter were wasted in making the film, as Smith assures Bonnie Laufer in this interview for Tribute at the Toronto International Film Festival. Smith explains what they used for the large chunks of butter in the film and why he had a hard time working with comedian Ty Burrell on set.
