Grease is the word this June at the Bell Lightbox. TIFF is kick starting summer by featuring a new sing-along version of the classic musical starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. Each screening, hosted by writer/performer Shawn Hitchins, will include a vocal warm up and a hand jive tutorial. Audience members will have the opportunity to dance and sing along to lyrics from the film’s iconic soundtrack as they’re shown on the screen. It’s time to rest up those vocal chords and transform into a Pink Lady or a T-Bird. Costumes are strongly encouraged and full participation is a must. This limited-run theatrical event runs over the first two weekends in June, with matinee screenings on June 2 and 3, closing with matinee and 7 p.m. screenings on June 9. Be there or be square!
