Looper premiere kicks off TIFF

Looper was the opening night gala premiere at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. An action/sci-fi thriller, it was a bold and different choice for the opening night film this year at TIFF. Walking the red carpet at Roy Thomson Hall were a number of stars from the time-travel movie, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who plays the main role as a hit man who's assigned to kill his future self (Bruce Willis, who was also in attendance), but when he recognizes himself, he hesitates and his older self gets away. He then has to pursue him. To look more like a younger version of Willis, Joseph had to undergo several hours in the makeup chair each day.

Director/screenwriter Rian Johnson, actress Piper Perabo, Emily Blunt and her husband, The Office star Jim Krasinski, posed for photos on the red carpet, as well as Noah Segan, who plays Kid Blue. Looper opens wide across North America on September 28, 2012.
