Michael McGowan is no stranger to the Toronto International Film Festival, having directed the opening night gala film, Score: A Hockey Musical, for 2010's festivities. This year he is back with the touching film, Still. Michael recounts to Tribute.ca how he read the true story in a newspaper before meeting the people behind it—it’s the dramatic story of Craig and Irene Morrison, played James Cromwell and Geneviève Bujold, an elderly New Brunswick couple who go up against local authorities in an effort to build their final home.

Fabulous portrayal of the sensitivities involved in aging. A victory for common sense and love, both so beautifully interwoven. The signed baseball was a masterful enabler of human dignity to prevail. Thank you Genevieve, James and Michael!!
