While Mark Wahlberg may be one of Hollywood's biggest stars, he could not outshine his leading ladies at the red carpet premiere of their latest dramatic biopic Deepwater Horizon last night (September 13).
All eyes were on Kate Hudson and Gina Rodriguez, who made quite a pretty pair as they smiled, hugged, and even admired each other's designer gowns. And we don't blame them -- Kate was rocking a killer Alexander McQueen dress with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, while Gina sparkled in an ultra-girly Badgley Mischka gown, adorned with Chopard jewelry.
Directed by Peter Berg, who was also in attendance, Deepwater Horizon depicts the real events behind an oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, where dozens of brave men and women were forced to fight for survival in what would become one of the biggest man-made disasters in history.
The film also stars Kate's real-life stepfather Kurt Russell, who told the Toronto Sun on the TIFF red carpet that working with his daughter in their lone scene together was "great" but "too fast."
Deepwater Horizon hits theaters across North America on September 30.
