In the second trailer for The Purge: Election Year, Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell) remembers a Purge 15 years earlier, when her entire family was murdered. She wants very much to put a stop to the barbaric practice. As a senator who's running for the U.S. Presidency, she wants citizens to believe that she can make a real change for the better. She claims the Purge targets the poor and the innocent. Her stance makes her a target for those who want the Purge to continue, so she recruits police sergeant Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) as the head of her security team. Their only goal? Survive the night, which may prove very difficult.
