Three college students decide to do a project on gossip in order to track its growth. But
first, they need to seek out some dirt. They base their project on Beau (Joshua Jackson) and
Naomi (Kate Hudson), a couple who haven't slept together because she's waiting until marriage.
One night at a club, Naomi passes out after drinking too much. In the morning, Naomi hears
from a friend that there's a rumour going around that Beau raped her while he was out of it. Since
she doesn't recall much, she begins to believe the falsity.
