In the official trailer for Nine Lives, Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey) asks his daughter what she'd like for her birthday. When she says, "A cat," he responds that he doesn't think their building allows pets. She's not falling for that - he owns the building. On the day of her party, he's running late and gets a call from his wife telling him that he has to bring an exceptional gift. He goes to a pet store to pick out a cat, but during an electrical storm, switches bodies with the cat. The pet store owner tells him he has a week to reconnect with his family or he's going to be a cat forever.
