In the trailer for Prosecuting Evil: The Extraordinary World of Ben Ferencz, we hear about the Einsatzgruppen Nazis, who murdered over a million people in cold blood. Their assignment was to murder every man, woman and child they could get their hands on. Ben Ferencz, a 27-year-old lawyer who’d never tried a case, was assigned as lead prosecuter at the Nuremberg war crimes trials in the trial of 22 members of the Einsatzgruppen death squads. Ferencz talks about the impact war had on him and how it instilled in him the need to work to stop war. As an American soldier who witnessed the starving and emaciated prisoners at several Nazi concentration camps, as well as the mass pits of dead prisoners piled on top of each other, he's haunted by what he saw and has worked over 70 years to establish an international principle of law to protect humanity from war crimes.
