In the trailer for Sharkwater Extinction, Rob reveals that after he saw a shark for the first time, he no longer had a fear of them. He began a quest to save sharks from shark fin soup after learning that 150 million sharks are being killed every year. Some of these are renamed and fed to us in pet food, livestock feed, fast food and even in cosmetics. In this trailer, while investigating two boats that may be illegally fishing, Rob and his team run into trouble. Then, something horrific happens. We hear someone shout "Mayday, Mayday Mayday!" A diver is missing. In a voiceover, Rob tells us we depend on other species for survival, including sharks. He adds that we still have a bright future if we want it, but we have to do something - now.
