In the first official trailer for the controversial and highly anticipated Snowden, we're introduced to a man portrayed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He runs, climbs and swings his way through the intensive motions inherent to U.S. Special Forces training. But his hopes of reaching the Forces are dashed when he badly injures both of his legs.

The man, who we learn is Edward Snowden, isn't keen on giving up his goal of serving his country, and instead pursues a path towards the CIA. As the trailer unfolds, we begin to see Edward for the computer whiz he is and witness his discovery of some of the NSA's more questionable practices. He goes on a brave mission to disclose classified documents and confronts several anxiety-inducing challenges in the process.
