Gary Oldman reveals that the unusual and charming script and character were what drew him to his latest film, The Space Between Us. He says it was also an opportunity to work with longtime friend, director Peter Chelsom. Gary compares his character Nathaniel Shepherd to scientists/entrepreneurs Elon Musk and Richard Branson for their shared passion, vision and drive. He also explains how Nathaniel loses his passion for invention, but regains the spark once there is talk of a mission to retrieve Gardener (Asa Butterfield) from Mars.
