Jonny Lee Miller Interview - T2 Trainspotting

T2 Trainspotting star Jonny Lee Miller, who plays Simon, discusses how he felt there was no point making a sequel to Trainspotting unless it dealt with the fundamental issue of the characters getting older, which to him is why the film is so interesting. Jonny describes Simon as sadder and darker in the 20 years that’s passed. Jonny explains that he and the other actors share some parallels with how their characters have experienced change over time, and says they are very lucky to have the chance to portray these roles again. He mentions how director Danny Boyle does a better job than anyone else at bringing great ideas to life as well as marshalling the right people and “creative forces” to help make the film what it needs to be.
