Naomi Watts describes The Glass Castle as a memoir with a powerful family dynamic, which was what interested her in the project. She adds that it doesn't get much better than knowing you get to work with Brie Larson and Woody Harrelson. Naomi describes her character Rose Mary as an unconventional mother and reveals she has a huge amount of trust and respect for director Destin Daniel Cretton, saying he embraces ideas and encourages actors to improvise.
