Angelina Jolie has told hubby Billy Bob Thornton that if she ever caught him cheating, she'd beat him up. If you saw Jolie in Girl, Interrupted or Tomb Raider, you know she could do it. And considering the way Thornton checked out of his relationship with Laura Dern, this might not be an idle threat. Jolie and Thornton got hitched in a Vegas ceremony that cost all of $189 in 2000 after the two played an onscreen couple in Pushing Tin the year before.

"I left our home to work on a movie and while I was away, my boyfriend got married and I've never heard from him again," Laura Dern told a magazine about being dumped by fiancé Thornton. Harsh. She also missed out on the wedding ring with Jurassic Park co-star Jeff Goldblum, whom she was engaged to for two years. Happily, Dern is in a much better situation these days. She just had her first
baby, Ellery Walker, with musician Ben Harper. Gal pal Meg Ryan introduced the couple.

Billy Bob's fourth wife Pietra Cherniak was a real headache for him. After he and the former Playboy model divorced in 1997, she claimed that he abused her during their four-year marriage, and she took out a restraining order to keep him away from her and their two children, Willie and Harry James. Thornton reciprocated by taking out a restraining order against her, too.

Though Timothy Hutton is probably best known for his role in Ordinary People, he hasn't chosen an ordinary person as his mate. His second wife, Parisian-born children's illustrator Aurore Giscard d'Estaing, is the niece of former French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing. He also has a son with his first wife, Debra Winger.

Jonny Lee Miller locked lips with Lisa Faulkner, after her recent split with South Park creator Trey Parker. Faulkner had hooked up with Miller once before when he was "taking a break" from All Saints singer Natalie Appleton. To complicate matters further, Miller previously paired up with Jennifer Esposito. Rumor is he could have had a role in Tomb Raider as well. Ex-wife Angelina Jolie spoke to the director about it, but Miller declined to take part.

Director Renny Harlin and Geena Davis struck out both in marriage and with the movies they made together. Indeed, Cutthroat Island, which cost more than $90 million, helped put Carolco Pictures out of business. And the month Davis filed for divorce, Harlin's son was born to another woman. Since then, the action man has changed his game plan. He's now dating British journalist Sarah Thackray and has recently directed the racecar flick Driven and the psychological thriller Mindhunters, which is scheduled for release this year.

Kyle MacLachlan has this amazing reputation as the perennial bachelor. He's
dated some of the most beautiful women in the world, including Heather Graham, Lara Flynn Boyle and supermodel Linda Evangelista, but has never actually tied the knot. Well, looks like that's all about to change on April 20. That's the wedding date he's set with fiancé and fashion publicist Desiree Gruber. The ceremony will take place in her hometown of Miami. MacLachlan, who's recently become well known as Trey MacDougal on TV's Sex and the City, will also appear in the movie Miranda this year.

Benjamin Bratt wasn't always known as Julia Roberts' stud muffin (or ex-stud muffin). Before he met the runaway bride, Bratt dated Jennifer Esposito for eight months. She met Bratt on Law & Order, where she guest-starred. Later, Esposito was linked to soap star Cameron Mathison. During their relationship Mathison admitted that Esposito pampered him with massages. However she took her special touch elsewhere when she briefly took up with Jonny Lee Miller.

Geena Davis, who will be reprising her role as Stuart Little's mom this year in the mouse sequel, is about to embark on an even bigger role: real-life mom. Davis and new husband Dr. Reza Jarrahy are expecting a baby in April. The two met through friends in 1999 and wed September 1, 2001. It was the fourth time Davis, who is 15 years older than Jarrahy, has walked down the aisle. Previously she was married to director Renny Harlin, Jeff Goldblum and restaurant owner Richard Emmolo.

Could a new romance be budding? Since Heath Ledger's high-profile breakup with Heather Graham, the Aussie hottie has been cozying up to American Pie beauty Tara Reid. The two were spotted at a party where they couldn't keep their hands off each other. If that's not enough to keep Ledger busy, he's reportedly buying a home in Prague, where he filmed A Knight's Tale. You'll be seeing a lot more of Ledger in the near future. This year, he's set to star in the film Four Feathers.

Since director Ed Burns split up with Maxine Bahns, she wasn't going to be cast in Sidewalks of New York. He saved that honor for his more recent ex, Heather Graham. (Burns is now engaged to supermodel Christy Turlington.) It was better that way. Bahns was in danger of becoming the Rebecca Pidgeon of Ed Burns movies. Besides, she still managed to make headlines sans cool boy toy by competing in the Ironman Hawaii 2001.

James Woods is currently appearing in John Q, but the movie has already been good to him. While filming in Toronto, the 54-year-old met a new, off-screen love interest, 22-year-old model-turned-web designer, Hilary Rowland. Woods has a penchant for beautiful young women. If you recall he also dated Sean Young and Heather Graham. Rowland spent eight months living with Woods in L.A. and New York before the couple split amicably.

Let's hope the third time's a charm for Lauren Holly. The ex-wife of funnyman Jim Carrey and Danny Quinn tied the knot last year with Toronto-born investment banker Francis Greco and adopted a son named Alexander. Holly, who starred in What Women Want, apparently knows a thing or two about what women don't want.

Besides throwing temper tantrums at this year's Sundance Festival, Jason Patric is probably better known for the inauspicious beginning of his relationship with Julia Roberts. Three days before she was to wed Kiefer Sutherland, she ditched him and ran off to frolic with Patric in Ireland.
