Carvey settles suit
Dana Carvey has settled his $7.5 million suit against the surgeon
who operated on the wrong artery during open heart surgery two years
ago. Terms of the settlement weren't disclosed, but Carvey says the
money will be given to a handful of charities, with the bulk going
toward heart research. Carvey has since recovered following
angioplasty surgery.
Spitsville for Hugh and Liz
It's splitsville for the world's
prettiest couple. After 13 years
together, it seems Hugh Grant and Elizabeth Hurley are calling it
quits. According to publicists, the split was amicable, and involved
no third parties. They also said the couple would continue to run
Simian Films, the production company they co-founded together.
Halliwell in Therapy
Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell announced that she's signed with
September Films to star in Therapy, her first film since
1997's Spice World: The Movie and her first solo endeavor.
Halliwell described the movie as "Working Girl meets Sex
in the City meets Alfie."
Perry in crash
Hours after being released from the hospital after a two-week stay,
Matthew Perry crashed his Porsche into the front porch of a
Hollywood Hills residence. No charges are being filed, and Perry is
discussing porch reparations with the owners who were, fortunately,
not in the house at the time. On the upside, his new contract gives
him $750,000 per episode of Friends. |
