Downey back in action
Shortly after a Corcoran, California prison released actor Robert Downey Jr., who served time for drug and weapons charges and violating his probation, the Oscar-nominated
actor nabbed an eight-week stint on David E. Kelley's hit Fox show Ally McBeal. Apparently there are directors lining up to sign the talented Downey and everyone's glad to have him back in commission.

Heche dazed and confused
Actress Anne Heche, who recently split up with live-in love Ellen Degeneres, was brought by Sheriff's deputies to the University Medical Center in Fresno, California, after she showed up shaken and
disoriented at a house not far from rural Fresno. Heche knocked on the front door and began speaking incoherently to the occupants. She had parked her car on a highway and then walked about a mile to
the house.

Madonna gives birth
Pop superstar Madonna, who
recently turned 42, gave birth to
a baby boy, Rocco Ritchie. She and her significant other, British film director Guy Ritchie, are said to be overjoyed. Madonna also has a daughter, Lourdes.

Critics slam Jerry Hall
The critics have not been kind in their reviews of the ex-Mrs. Mick Jagger, Jerry Hall, who is onstage as Mrs. Robinson in a London production of The Graduate. The former Texan supermodel was described as "wooden as a toothpick" by The Daily Mail and The Times wrote "Enter Jerry Hall, barely acting."
