Because We Were Born

In north-east Brazil, the entire population lives in extreme destitution. Cocada, 14 years old, dreams of become a truck driver and spends his time hanging out at an immense service station, where he carries out various odd jobs for passing motorists. His friend Nego, 13, lives with his mother and his many brothers, born from different fathers. After finishing his work in the fields, Nego joins Cocada at the service station, where he begs for money, fascinated by this busy place with numerous customers.
