September 1945, the French Alps. With the war recently over, Sebastian, 10, and his grandfather Caesar anxiously wait for Caesar’s daughter, Angelina, to return. When they hear that the plane the young woman was on crashed near the Italian border, Caesar refuses to believe she’s not still alive. Caesar convinces Pierre Marceau, a gruff and arrogant pilot, to search for survivors in the forest where the plane crashed.
While the men talk, Sebastian and Belle, his valiant Pyrenees shepherd dog, hide on board the aircraft., Peter discovers the presence of the castaways while flying over a forest fire. Desperate to find Angelina, Sébastien causes a forced landing, which damages the small plane. Lost in the middle of nowhere, Sebastian, Belle and Peter search for Angelina.
