Blood of Kouan Kouan

Kouan Kouan is the god that rules over the wild beasts of the jungle and brings them to the community. He dwells in the subsurface. When oil companies place explosives and dynamite in the earth to extract oil, they kill Kouan Kouan. There are many films about the long battle between Texaco and the people of Ecuador. Few turn protest into poetry: juxtaposing the forests of the native tribes with the looming presence of oil rigs.
