Fire Under the Snow

Filmmaker Makoto Sasa highlights the unbreakable spirit of Tibetan monk Palden Gyatso in this documentary that tells the story of how Gyatso watched his nation fall and his fellow countrymen die while being tortured and starved in Chinese prisons for thirty-three years. Somehow, through it all, he never lost faith in humanity.
