While having dinner at home, Léonce, a man in his sixties, receives a visit from an older man named Potier, who tells Léonce that he’s in love with his cleaning lady Nacifa, a young Algerian woman who is beaten by her husband. Nacifa is also employed by Potier, who pays her to sleep with him.
The two men decide to share the young woman, after getting rid of her husband, who wanted to sell her services. But then Death, in the guise of an old woman, arrives at Léonce’s home as well, looking for Nacifa, who is suffering from cancer. Potier and Léonce decide to use radical means to stop her from taking the young woman.
