A young widow named Marlina (Marsha Timothy) is alone at her home in the deserted hills of an Indonesian island, when seven men arrive. They calmly announce that they have come to take her money and livestock and if they have time, they'll rape her, each one of them.
However, Marlina has prepared for such an eventuality. She serves them soup made of poisonous berries and decapitates their leader, Markus (Egy Fedly). With her bloody machete in a sling, she sets out on a journey down the long, dusty road to turn herself in. But the ghost of her headless victim begins to appear, strumming a string instrument.
