The Canadian indie rock sensations, who share a couple of members with Broken Social Scene, have built an impressive fan base around the world thanks to their catchy, rock-steady, electric-synth jams and their raucous live performances.

In 2005, Metric released their second official album, Live It Out, which reached double-platinum status (over 200,000 units sold) in Canada; touring in support of the disc, they twice opened for the Rolling Stones at Madison Square Garden in New York . There is always something divine as well about the visually inventive, formally dazzling works of Winnipeg experimental filmmaker Deco Dawson, director of FILM(dzama) (2001), The Last Moment (2007), and other highly expressive films.

This past spring, Dawson was handed ten hours of live concert footage of Metric, shot at the Metropolis in Montreal, and given complete artistic control to do with it as he liked.

Equal parts music video, experimental film and hallucinogenic mind-trip, Dawson has crafted an unusually compelling, visually stirring interpretation of a musical performance, while capturing the excitement for which Metric's visceral, dynamic live shows are renowned.
