While spending time abroad with their newly adopted daughter from Haiti, an American couple (Ryan Phillippe, Rachelle Lefevre) continue to run into Benjamin (John Cusak) who enquires about the adoption process. Soon after, they discover their daughter to be missing.

The couple tries to pull up a photo from her adoption profile for the police, but discover the profile has been deleted. The police inform them that they have been part of a blackmarket scam. Children are sold for as much money as the individuals can acquire from the buyers and then the children are reclaimed, over and over again.

The desperate couple now embarks on a mission to find and save their daughter. However, they soon find themselves in their own danger when Benjamin kidnaps them and threatens to kill them unless they provide more money. Now they must fight for their daughter’s life as well as their own.
