Synopsis

When the American government discovers that Mexican drug cartels have been helping terrorists cross the border into the U.S., they assign federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) to start a war between the cartels. Graver enlists the help of his old pal, Alejandro Gillick (Benicio Del Toro).

Alejandro, a former attorney, went on a revenge spree to hunt down the men who murdered his family, including kingpin Carlos Reyes. However, when Isabela Reyes (Isabela Moner), the teenage daughter of Carlos Reyes, is kidnapped and Graver orders Alejandro to kill the girl, he refuses and goes rogue, pitting the two former team members and friends against each other.

  • 5 stars "well written in actual issues"
  • 5 stars "Brolin and Del Toro deliver, I love their acting!!! Loved how the politics played out. Gritty! The teenage boy did an amazing job. The young girl is a rising star. Shocking scenes. Interesting end."
  • 4 stars "Movie is pleasantly entertaining, more action than first one, different story overall. Really like it except last 20 minutes where it gets emotional for a tough character like Brolin and kind of cheesy at the end, but of course can't wait for 3rd part if there will be one before they get too old to act."
