The Moving Image Film Festival is a unique festival that focuses on the study of film genres and welcomes experimentation with the clash or fusion of different genres and narratives. The goal for Moving Image is to create a hub for artists to explore each other's work and talents. This year Moving Image will cover a variety of different categories including: The Best Feature Film Showcase, Best Short Film Showcase and the Moving Image Showcase which studies experimental narratives involving music and other forms of new artistry. Presented by Movieola, this year's Best Short Film Showcase line-up includes titles such as Tungijuq from Cannes-winning filmmaker Zacharias Kunuk (Atanarjuat, The Fast Runner). Mixing live action and computer animation, Kunuk presents a thought provoking meditation on the indisputable reality of hunting in Inuit culture. The Best Feature Film Showcase line-up includes the cult comedy The Death of Alice Blue in which an advertising intern finds herself in a firm run by vampires, followed by a mix of guns, thugs and toilets made of drugs in Gangster Exchange.
