Out on conditional release, Victoria settles in the old family sugar shack, away from the bustle of the city. Her well-intentioned brother gives her the use of the premises, still inhabited by their elderly bedridden and mute uncle. Victoria is soon joined by her beloved Florence, a French woman 20 years her junior, whom she met in prison.
Every couple of days, Guillaume, a zealous young parole officer, comes to check on Victoria’s progress. However, his visits make Florence suspicious and he gets drawn into Vic and Flo's relationship drama.
