When a Man Loves (1927)

Set in France during the reign of Louis XV and based on the Abbe Prevost novel Histoire du Chevalier des Grieux et de Manon Lescaut, in which The Great Lover smoulders with even more intensity than usual as he plays opposite real-life inamorata and future wife Dolores Costello.
