Synopsis

The day the stars fell, two lives changed forever. High schoolers Mitsuha and Taki are complete strangers living separate lives. But one night, they suddenly switch places. Mitsuha wakes up in Taki's body, and he in hers. This bizarre occurrence continues to happen randomly, and the two must adjust their lives around each other. Yet, somehow, it works.

They build a connection and communicate by leaving notes, messages, and more importantly, an imprint. When a dazzling comet lights up the night's sky, something shifts, and they seek each other out wanting something more - a chance to finally meet.

  • 4 stars "Holy timelines Batman! Started as 'seen this plot before' but it being animated kept it visually interesting. Little bit of comedy helped get through it in only two sittings. The 'feel good' part did feel good so it gets a 4. Some recommended subs instead of dubbing; I subbed but found I had to pause sometimes so that I could see the animations/background. But then again, dubbing usually sucks anyways."
  • 5 stars "You'd have to be daft not to appreciate this movie. Its virtually impossible to criticize this movie. But I feel its also not practical to compare this to any of Mr Miyazakis' masterpieces. This is a masterpiece on its own. its not a Miyazaki, its a Makoto...."
