Still of Emma Corrin in The Crown

The 73rd annual Emmy Award nominations were announced this morning by Ron and Jasmine Cephas Jones, the father-daughter duo who won performance Emmy Awards last year. Leading the charge by way of nominations this year are Netflix’s The Crown (S4) and Disney’s The Mandalorian, earning 24 each, followed by WandaVision with 23 nominations and The Handmaid’s Tale and Saturday Night Live with 21. Apple TV+ also earned a spot in the top six with comedy series Ted Lasso scoring 20 nominations.

Other popular programs on the nominee list include Bridgerton, The Queen’s Gambit, Mare of Easttown, and Pose. The nominees were spread out across all streaming platforms, although HBO and Netflix dominated the list once again by earning 130 and 129 nominations respectively for their 2020/21 programs.

The 73rd annual Emmy Awards will broadcast live on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS. Cedric the Entertainer is slated to host the ceremony. Check out the full list of series and performance category nominees below. ~Cassandra Coleman
