I guess some other industries give awards to pat themselves on the back as well. Ie: Aviation awards or hell, even the Nobel Prize is an award that goes out to multiple fields ranging from scientific to literacy. It’s just the Academy Awards is on a bigger televised stage. As the years pass, more and more people care less and less about the film industry patting themselves on the back. I guess all awards bring awareness to that industry or arm of of an industry (ie: visual affects arm of the entertainment industry, not just acting), and gets people interested in pursuing a career in that field. It keeps the industry alive and growing…no matter what industry is celebrating their own achievements.

I have always loved the Oscars. Love watching movies ?? I watch everything but horror. I relate to characters and feel what it is they portray. Its like being on a ride, and living that aspect of life! ??
