Airplane passengers angry at Madonna

By Alexandra Heilbron on December 22, 2010 | 30 Comments

Passengers flying on a plane with Madonna were angry when the plane was delayed, forcing them to remain on the aircraft for hours, while special arrangements were made for Madonna to disembark. It happened in Britain when a Virgin flight from New York to London’s Heathrow airport was diverted to nearby Stansted airport due to a snowstorm. After landing, the passengers were kept on board for three hours, but Madonna was allowed to leave after just 60 minutes, according to British newspaper the Daily Mail. A source told the publication, “After about an hour, a bus came along and took her and her party of about 15 off the plane. It seemed a little unfair. It’s not like she is the President or anything. The rest of us all had to wait for another two hours… Madonna was taken off the plane way before the rest of the first class people. We were all grumbling about it.”

she shouldnt have received special treatment just because she is famous, thats ridiculous!

  2. C-Dub • December 22, 2010 @ 1:08 PM

What a primadonna lol. Why did that have to happen? Doesnt make sense why everyone had to wait. They pay for their ticket like everyone else. They were on the same flight so, why not get off at the same time?

The only people to blame here is the airline. Want to show them how upset you are? Stop buying tickets from them.

  4. mandee • December 22, 2010 @ 5:37 PM

🙂 i never started buying tickets from them.

  5. Trudy • December 22, 2010 @ 6:26 PM

I don’t know why the passenger in first class specified that the other first class passengers should have been able to get off with Madonna. All the passengers should have been able to get off if she did, I don’t see where what kind of a ticket they bought comes into play in this situation.

Madonna Flying Virgin Air…oh the irony…multiple levels at that. I never liked Madonna…this BS confirms it.

  7. Rudolph Ransom • December 22, 2010 @ 9:57 PM

I’d file a complainte or have everyone sue the company just to show them that they badly managed it…!

  8. Colleen • December 23, 2010 @ 9:22 AM

FAA Regulations should have been the only rules applied in this case. Everyone flying the skies should be treated exactly the same way when it comes to boarding and deplaning. If you want a first class ticket and sip champagne in the skies with extra perks, well that’s up to you and your pocket book. If you want an entourage to meet when you get off, good for you. But just sit back and fiddle with your headset while you wait just like everyone else.

That’s when you just get up and join them and ask Madge if you can party it up with her. She’s bound to say yes. Love her!!

    Ashley….you’re drunk. We understand.

    LOL Ashley!

Another example of the famous thinking their s**t don’t stink…they get more free things they don’t need and get treated as though they own the planet and pay all the bills….just one more reason to hate the players….

What the article does not say is WHY they had to wait 3 hours. Was it Madonna’s fault they had to wait 3 hours?

Ask yourself questions about what you read instead of making the assumptions the writers want you to make.

    Think for yourselves people!

Perhaps it wasn’t Madonna’s fault at all that the other passengers were not allowed to disembark for another 2 hours, perhaps, there was a reason she was allowed to leave early. A reason not reported here.

Regardless as to why she was allowed to disembark before any other passengers, those with the airline made a poor decision. It is them everyone should be upset with not necessarily Madonna

Really, if you think about it, people with money usually get better treatment than others with less. It has always been that way historically and now. Madonna’s fame status also elevates her perceived importance. It’s unfortunate how that works out for the other 99% of the poplulation (1% are rich/famous/etc) since people will always want to please the 1%. I’m not surprised no one else got anything. Yes people are angered but really everyone knows in a million years unless they’re like Madonna, they will most likely never get that kind of treatment.

Peanut butter, you sound like a conspiracy theorist. Who cares why they had to wait 3 hours? The fact is, if Madonna didn’t have to wait, neither did they, it was just the airline being stupid and treating their regular customers like dirt. It wasn’t Madonna’s fault the other people had to wait, it was the airline’s fault obviously, which I think everyone agrees on. But if they can let her out after an hour, they can let everyone out. She’s not royalty or the leader of a country or a heart surgeon. She’s a pop star for crying out loud.

becuse she is famous she most likelly had a lakey ordered to arange for her to be picked up with power comes cash and infuence

  18. Lory • December 23, 2010 @ 6:53 PM

    Well said colleen.

    Madonna is the ultimate narcissist!
She has no consideration or respect for anyone else but herself. She knows people are awestruck by her presence and plays that to her advantage.

  19. Pev • December 24, 2010 @ 5:15 AM

She`s f**ken rich enough. Why doesn`t she buy her own plane. That way she won`t be a pain to the rest of us. Someone should tell these airline companies that the money they make from the ordinary folks in coach is what keeps thier business alive. Maybe they should learn to have more respect for them

  20. Miss Universe • December 24, 2010 @ 12:00 PM

Money and power comes with Respect…you aint gotta like it but you gotta Respect it.

  21. Wendy • December 24, 2010 @ 12:28 PM

The “lady” always has known how to get her name in the papers….things have been quiet….now they’re talking about her again….she’s spoiled… but she’s no dummy.

  22. Edouin • December 24, 2010 @ 3:19 PM

Whats to say that her manager didn’t toss a couple thou$$$ at the airline to arrange the bus and get her entourage off the plane and into a nice passenger lounge in the terminal.

If the average person (including first class passengers) could cough up the extra dough for this treatment, don’t you think that they would have done so? Do they expect Madge to foot the bill for the rest of them to get off?

That is what managers are for – looking out for the boss. I think this is exactly what happened. And yes, money does speak very loud. Especially when leveraged properly, as I suspect was done in this case.

  23. gbh999 • December 24, 2010 @ 5:33 PM

That phoney skank, flying on the same airplane with you peons? You should be so lucky. Now quit your bitchin’ and show some respect. Cause you darn sure ain’t gonna get any from that beatch!

  24. Kyle • December 24, 2010 @ 6:10 PM

It is rich racism. The rich get better treatment then the not rich, just change the monetary standing to a colour of a persons skin and we all get offended. However when someone with money gets better treatment than someone without we brush it off lightly. In this case if it wasn’t for we the average, that person would not have their societal standing, so I think that out of respect everyone else should have been let off first.

  25. bambooze • December 25, 2010 @ 2:53 AM

Hahaha, that’s funny, one rich person to another, complaining about another rich person. Unfair treatment? They’re flying first class! They have the best room, best service and best everything available for them! And can’t Madonna just use a jet? She can practically own at least 20 of them.

  26. Rick • December 27, 2010 @ 10:34 PM

Hey Miss Universe……Money and power doesn`t come with respect. It comes for those sucking up to them for the wrong reasons, which isn`t respect but is exactly what that airline company did.

  27. Jo-Anne • December 28, 2010 @ 1:34 PM

edouin…hear hear…exactly what I was gonna write, seems an obvious answer to this dilemma….

respect is a word thrown about so easily when trashing other’s names…yet seemingly not the rule for many trashers…

  28. jjones • December 29, 2010 @ 1:48 PM

I don’t care about the travel plans of Madonna (I can take her or leave her), but what you guys aren’t considering is that Madonna’s “people” probably arranged for the bus themselves (jean vialette above was the only one that even considered this) and if any of the other passengers had alternate travel options they too probably would have been allowed to leave the plane. It probably wasn’t the airline who arranged any of it, therefore all passengers who didn’t make their own plans had no other option but to stay put.

My boss was stuck at the Boston airport during 911 and I had to hire a limo to get him back to Canada, so if we hadn’t made our own arrangments, he would have been at the airport for a very long time. It’s not because he was rich and famous, it’s because his “people” were resourceful. Without all the facts I’m going on the assumption that this is how Madonna was allowed to leave the plane.

Someone should invest in a private jet so public wouldn’t be wanting to kill you for trying to be mundane.
