Everybody went “wingy” over unwed 16-year-old Jamie Lynn getting pregnant. Now you congratulate Jessica over being pregnant and announcing her engagement.

Talk about a double standard! Could we stop thinking it’s okay to get pregnant first then get engaged and hopefully, married? Is it too much to ask that this generation start to develop a few morals????

    You are totally right.

Um…… Jessica Alba is older than Jamie Lynn Spears and I’m sure that the majority who commented on that subject only commented because of her age….not her marital status!?!?!?!?

Who cares if she is expecting a child and not Married. Its 2007 almost 2008 normal people and Celebrities do it that way often u can read the stats. Everyone one is upset because Jamie is 16 years old.

Yeah, Jessica is older than Jamie Lynn. What that tells me is she definitely should have known better. Both are stupid. Aside from them having unprotected sex and ending up pregnant – both are lucky they haven’t picked up any communicable diseases.

Morals are not defined by age, but they are an integral part of your overall character. Something which, it would appear, is missing in a great deal of people today.

    who gives a damn

Sorry, the Bible is not on my reading list and haven’t met a cousin that I’d touch with a ten foot pole, let alone date. But I do know this – these celebrities are NOT role models. If you think they are then you are seriously lacking in good judgment.

The point I’m trying to make is that marriage is hard enough. To start it out BECAUSE of a baby is an added pressure that almost always guarantees the marriage will be short-lived. If they even get married, let’s see how long it lasts. What odds do you give it????

Let me clarify a little more. Nowdays people like to take the easy way out. When I was in school, the computers were MS DOS! We had to use our brains and do physical work as well. We could not even have a calculator in class until we were in high school. Not anymore…kids, including mine….have 2 gym classes per week if they are lucky. Calculators…nah, they don’t need them…because they are taught to sit on their asses and let the computers do all the work. My daughter laughed when I told her that we had to use a pen, paper and the library to do our projects. She thinks I am abusing her if I ground her from the computer! Anyways, what I am trying to say is that “MARRIAGE” takes alot of hard work, and alot of people just aren’t that dedicated!

    Hardly 100.

Glad to hear you ground your daughter in any way, shape or form. A lot of parents don’t give a crap about their kids these days.

Marriage takes work, but it also takes commitment. OOOOOHHHHH, there’s a dirty word if ever I heard it. Commitment.

Yeah, times change, and NOT always for the better. Nobody makes a commitment to anything anymore. Not to jobs, not to families, not to friends. Everything is expendable, everyone’s affections, loyalty, and love is conditional. Who gives a rat’s ass about anything?

Let’s face it, utopia is never to be realized. Welcome to 2008; how much further down into the toilet do we have to go before you realize Kansas is a long way off and clicking your heals isn’t going to cut it?

See, I can be just as much of a realist as the rest of you but I CHOOSE NOT TO fall into the trap of the me-first, everyone fall in line behind me mentality.

Sometimes there is only one road to take though….and if you don’t have the proper equipment to break trail, then you get stuck following everyone else’s tracks!!

  16. Anonymous • January 3, 2008 @ 12:23 AM

There is never only one road to take. To say there is is a cop out. Then you become nothing more than a lemming waiting to take that long slide in into the abyss.

If that bull**** is what you believe then you don’t have the guts to step off the track – so carry on good little foot soldier.
