Alec Baldwin dating 28-year-old dancer

By Alexandra Heilbron on June 2, 2011 | 48 Comments

Alec Baldwin appears to be following in the footsteps of Sean Penn, 50, who’s currently romancing the much-younger Scarlett Johansson. The 53-year-old 30 Rock star has been seen on numerous dates with a 28-year-old dancer/yoga instructor named Hilaria Thomas, and was photographed squiring the New York University graduate to Carnegie Hall’s 120th anniversary after-party last month. “He’s really into her,” a source told the New York Post. “He’s taking her to the Tonys.” Ironically, Baldwin was quoted last year as saying: “What’s worse than waking up with a 25-year-old woman, you know what I mean? You’ll want to go shoot yourself because you don’t have anything to say to her. Seriously. It’s sad but there are men who go for whatever their earliest ideal of a sexual partner was… meaning men often lock into similar to the first girl they loved at 18. They get stuck in an idea of sexuality with young women. Other men learn to see beyond all that.”

What’s with these young girls with these old guys? He’s right, there’s no way he has anything in common with her, guys like that just want a young body. And sorry to be brutally honest, but neither he nor Sean Penn have aged well. A lot of guys look better when they get older (Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Patrick Dempsey) but Alec, he was gorgeous when he was younger but if I didn’t know it was the same person I wouldn’t believe it.

  2. Jessica • June 2, 2011 @ 12:26 AM

    Wow.

I was just starting to like Alec again…

  3. Germain • June 2, 2011 @ 12:51 AM

Notice the 2 first posts are negative but from women. Age is just a number, love is love, why do you assume the worst?

  4. Guy • June 2, 2011 @ 1:19 AM

Agreed Germain. I am a 20-something man dating an older woman. Our age difference is very similar to the ones stated above, but I’m happy to say that we are very much in love and have been together for over a year. Yes there are things that set us apart some times because of the age difference, and we’ve had to get past a lot of age-ist views from many people, but the cliche is true. Love knows no bounds.

I get very upset when people instantly judge a couple based on their age. How on earth could you know how the couple actually feels and how they connect with each other? If it’s not meant to be, then so be it – just like any other relationship.

So he is playing the field. They are adults, grow the F*ck up already.

  6. Cat • June 2, 2011 @ 11:21 AM

Oh my god why wouldn’t he date a 25 year old mist men that go through a crisis a divorce would want a hot young woman to help their self esteem 🙂 build them up my ex did it and eventually broke her heart thank god 🙂 I hope the best for them

I would say the women here are jealous. In a way, so are the guys. As a fellow 59something, I say go for it. I would be more than happy to date a girl half my age if I could. And there are worldly, intelligent young women today with whom one can have very intriguing discussions.
Regardless whether Alec is playing the field, I keep a list of May-December romances JUST FOR women like this. Among the age differences of 18 years or more:
    Howard Stern
    David Schwimmer
    Dennis Quaid
    Nicolas Cage
    Robert Redford
    Leslie Moonves (to Julie Chen)
    Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart
    Hulk Hogan
    Richard Dawson
    Orson Bean
    Christopher Knight
    Paul Simon
    Michael Douglas
    Keith Carradine
    Steve Martin
    Kelsey Grammer
    Nick Nolte
    Chris Noth
    David Brenner
    Billy Joel
    Lee Majors
    Luciano Pavarotti
    Clint Eastwood

I can come up with more.
    Still think it’s disgusting, ladies?

  8. Lou • June 2, 2011 @ 12:01 PM

Assuming we cannot edit our comments, I am 51, or a “50 something”.

  9. john milkovic • June 2, 2011 @ 1:31 PM

The all-time sexiest actor in Hollywood…old blue eyes( no not frank).Paul (cool hand Luke) Newman. He said it best…I love beer, racing and my wife JoAnne Woodward…….Why go for hamburger when you’ve got steak at home…….lol

  10. TheTruth • June 2, 2011 @ 1:55 PM

^ Probably because, in this case you’re going out for some filet mignon while you’ve got some frozen beef liver waiting in the freezer.

  11. Louise • June 2, 2011 @ 1:57 PM

It’s called life, unfortunately. I just turned 50, and yes it could be envious from us old gals, but I do not feel 50 and am very young at heart and like to still have fun. Media just loves to get the dirt on stars … but often, not always (eg. Catherine Zeta Jones) when they are stars they attract the wrong ones. Good luck to him.

  12. FoxxyCanuck • June 2, 2011 @ 2:07 PM

From a female point of view…Love is love, and I see nothing wrong with Alec dating a younger woman…they are consenting adults…it is ultimately their choice…

I’m dating a man who is 9 years older than me…we are deeply in love and enjoy rich, intelligent conversation…we wouldn’t have it any other way…

Before him, I dated a man who was 17 years older than me, and again, had no problems…

There is absolutely nothing wrong with older men or women dating someone much younger than themselves…Society really needs to get over that stigma.

  13. Wendy • June 2, 2011 @ 3:08 PM

The man IS single ….who he dates is his business.

  14. Felicity • June 2, 2011 @ 3:55 PM

well said Wendy! lol Every relationship is personal and if he has found something with this girl, then all the power to him. Just because you don’t agree with something doesn’t make it wrong!

  15. Judy • June 2, 2011 @ 3:00 PM

Who cares how old she is…. I think Alec Baldwin is hot! he has aged well are you kidding me….

  16. JEFF • June 2, 2011 @ 3:21 PM

i’ll bet those first posts were from hags who haven’t been on a date in years. Get over yourselves hags. If anythign the new trend is young guys with olderwomen.

  17. David • June 2, 2011 @ 3:23 PM

Go Alec! I mean, that picture makes you look a bit like a turnip with wild hair but nonetheless, go Alec!

  18. kate • June 2, 2011 @ 3:27 PM

You old guys crack me up. I notice all the names listed were celebrities. Do you think if they didn’t have fame or fortune the young babes would give them a second look. How many hot babes are dating janitors, auto mechanics – non glamourous type professions. In 10-15 yrs when the young women, men are early to mid 40’s believe me they won’t be helping their loved one change their Depends.

  19. SuzyCreamCheese • June 2, 2011 @ 4:35 PM

I think it’s cool. At least this young one is educated, and has a job. What ever floats your boat!

  20. Renee • June 2, 2011 @ 4:43 PM

Lovely now ..how many will want to be their nurse maids in a few years….

  21. nancy • June 2, 2011 @ 5:31 PM

    This is short….
lived…(whether it age, impodent, or looks. Someone is going to lose, and I can bet it isnt’ the 28 year old..!

  22. JEFF • June 2, 2011 @ 6:43 PM

You sound hot kate. Let’s materrr I mean date. lol Best line of dodgeball. The divorce rate is at 60 percent, so amen for people dating!

  23. Shirley Hall • June 2, 2011 @ 7:52 PM

He better enjoy it while he has it as I am sure she will get bored. I think the girls love the fame that goes with the celebrities but it never lasts. Not much to build a relationship on and this usually proves true.

  24. Tayderhead • June 2, 2011 @ 9:04 PM

Guy’s comment: “How on earth could you know how the couple actually feels and how they connect with each other?” MONEY makes the connection. Those old women you date sure have more money than you do & most likely pay your way everywhere you go.
At least Alex now has a playmate for his daughter…..as long as she doesn’t mind the nasty names like he calls his daughter.

  25. Lorna • June 2, 2011 @ 9:08 PM

I am a woman who is in my late 40’s and I have found guys my age are not interested in dating me, but young men have no problem approaching me. It’s not like I am looking to get married so I see no problem with age differences.

  26. Mel • June 2, 2011 @ 9:24 PM

Think he’d be interested in a 26-year-old typist?

  27. Germain • June 3, 2011 @ 7:34 AM

@ Kate, so by that you mean that those women can be as shallow as men are always accused of being? Who’s worst? The gold digger or the one that owns the gold?

  28. Marsha • June 3, 2011 @ 10:47 AM

Oh that is too bad, Alex makes me feel good watching him on T.V., movies… I’m sorry but I think this lady is in for the money and what ever she can get from Alex.
    Alex should know better

  29. JEFF • June 3, 2011 @ 11:22 AM

Women have the total double standard:

From 18-22 It’s their slutty stage

22=25- Bad boy stage. String along nice guys but keep dating jerks

26-35- Volvo driving soccer mom better marry that nice guy because he has money.

    36- I’m old and saggy

  30. C-Dub • June 3, 2011 @ 11:33 AM

High five Alec. And ‘Kate’ actually I know a few older men who certainly are not celebrities and they have hot-ass girlfriends. The girls seem to be very much in love. Is it a ‘daddy issue’? I don’t know, but who cares. They are adults and you can’t help you you like. There is this lesbian I work with and she confided in me that she likes me and she can’t understand why. She has only ever been with women but for some reason she is curious about being with me. Is that wrong? I’m also over 10yrs her senior and I’m certain people will think she really isn’t lesbian and think it’d be a strange relationship dynamic. I don’t care, it makes me feel flattered and good.

It’s how it makes you feel! Go with it.

  31. Christie • June 3, 2011 @ 11:38 AM

I feel sad for you JEFF. You have no idea what women are like.

  32. JEFF • June 3, 2011 @ 11:59 AM

I was joking Christie, but you should teach me. lol

  33. JEFF • June 3, 2011 @ 12:00 PM

Celine Dion was chasing her man when she was 16!

  34. jjones • June 3, 2011 @ 1:36 PM

Hey power to anyone who nabs a younger companion. I personally would love to date a guy half my age, there’s just something fresh about their look, but it might upset my husband, so I’ll just be happy for those who can do it. LOL

  35. Christie • June 3, 2011 @ 2:50 PM

Glad to hear it, JEFF, lol. 🙂

  36. L1feless • June 3, 2011 @ 3:19 PM

    @FoxxyCanuck

Before the guy you’re with now…implies that the two of you are now broken up so clearly their were problems. Whether or not the problems were directly age related…well that is the real debate.

I do think that the quoted text from Alec above is being misused as I think what he is really saying (taking a page out of Germain’s book) is that he enjoys the company of younger women. He goes on to say that he tried to see past the sexual attraction. The last part I suppose is the the real portion of the quote which should be debated.

  37. Debbie • June 3, 2011 @ 3:28 PM

I am different. I am 51 years old and I look 30. I am 5’5″, 115 lbs., and have a very proportioned body. Many people approach me, but my oldest son is 32, so the rule for myself is that the guy has to be at least 40 or so. I don’t like a younger than that mentality. I have dated within a 12 year difference, and when I was 30 something, I dated a 67 year old.Men can be smart or stupid at any age, and I am very open minded, but I think that Alec Baldwin is on a power trip. I have many years of experience of being okay, and then “hotter”. I think sense should come into this. Just because you “can”, does not make it right. I would be disgusted with myself to date a 20 yr. old, unless we were friends only. People- have a bit of dignity. I’m seeing someone that is 59 and I am 51. I look like his daughter, but I am not. Kind of funny, but I guess it is nice not to look my age, but it is natural for me. Alec can do what he wants, but much older with much younger is a little creepy.

  38. Guy • June 3, 2011 @ 4:13 PM

@Tayderhead – your comment, “Those old women you date sure have more money than you do & most likely pay your way everywhere you go.”

What a narrow minded stupid thing to say. I have my own career and so does she, and we’re both able to support ourselves. We don’t share any finances, and we treat each other all the time equally.

Do you think maybe perhaps two people can have a relationship that DOESN’T have to do with money?

  39. Debbie • June 3, 2011 @ 4:44 PM

I agree with Guy. Without analyzing everyone else’s comments, I know that I have always said that I wanted people for their time, and not their money, to sum it up. I think that if you are nice to people and fair about things, you sometimes get the nicer people in your life. Even when I have split from people, I have taken only my own things, if that. You are entitled to your half, but bitter endings are stupid. And… I do not think these young women are with the older ones for anything other than fame and money, but that is their thing. I’m not that shallow, or smart? No… I just try to be fair and decent and it pays off in the end. (no pun intended).

  40. Debbie • June 3, 2011 @ 5:00 PM

I am tired, so I may have contradicted myself. I just think that with fame and being in the public eye, that Alec is looking for something that he can see as a prize, and she is looking to someone who has power and money. Sort of using eachother. I do not see it lasting. It can… but older men, younger women in Hollywood, does not seem to.

  41. Wendy • June 3, 2011 @ 6:08 PM

I don’t think either of them give a hoot what we think.Women of glamor and privilege throughout history have married for money and power and they or their families have used their wealth, beauty and youth and or position to snag them .If they happened to be in love , icing on the cake. Not a lot has changed for the elite types. All relationships have their problems ,bargaining and you give me that and I,ll give you this.Of course those old guys are like puppies with their tongues hanging out at the prime rib, but the ladies eyes light up for the charge cards too.

  42. Kathleen • June 3, 2011 @ 8:46 PM

So–oo-oo True, Wendy! Some women are just “built” to be gold diggers! BUT, I do beleive that some older-younger relationships work–ie.–Harrison Ford& Colesta, etc. You should be in a position where you both work, and one doesn’t have to depend on the other for anything material. If the love between the two is based on trust, compassion and genuine affection, then the relationship can work. When other “factors” play against them, then the relationship will probably flop–depending on how “mature” the younger party is, and HOW they handle it. —Been there, didn’t work out at the time!

  43. Harry • June 4, 2011 @ 7:07 AM

She’s a dancer? She’s doing him for the fame. Plus he’s got money. End of story. If she was an accountant or a lawyer, she’d have better sense and wouldn’t need to latch onto an old guy to get where she thinks she wants to go.

  44. Jo-Anne • June 4, 2011 @ 7:01 PM

right on, Kate, tell it like it is!
dead bang on….janitors haha! love it! Alec Wallet Baldwin….middle names always appeal to those seeing “true love”….

p.s. JEFF are you Mel Gibson?

  45. Jo-Anne • June 4, 2011 @ 7:06 PM

    Debbie….
    “when I was 30 something, I dated a 67 year old”
“much older with much younger is a little creepy.”

    ?????

  46. jeff • June 5, 2011 @ 9:34 PM

51 who looks 30? LOL So rule of 3 makes you 90 Jo-anne.

  47. 29-t4egjr • June 6, 2011 @ 5:15 PM

and this is wrong how exactly? she’s of legal age, so what’s the problem you over-sensitive conservatives?

  48. Jo-Anne • June 6, 2011 @ 5:33 PM

19 is of legal age, no? Perphaps, being as liberal minded as you profess, you’d be comfortable with your 19 yr old daughter dating Hefner?
