Amazing Race producer murdered in Uganda

Jeff Rice, a freelance producer who worked on the current season of The Amazing Race, was found dead in his hotel room in Uganda after a “failed shakedown attempt by local thugs,” according to Fox News. His production assistant, whose identity has not been released, is in critical condition. Rice, who was originally from the States, and his wife, Sally Blackman, formed a production company, SB Productions, based in South Africa. Described on the production company’s website as a “real people’s person” with an “incredibly calm nature and a wicked sense of humor,” Jeff had also worked on Destination Truth, Warriors, The Biggest Loser South Africa and Celebrity Shark Bait. His widow told FoxNews.com: “They were not attacked but [evidence] points towards being poisoned. [A]t this stage it is quite difficult to give you any firm reports as the incident is currently under investigation by the Uganda police.” Besides his widow, Jeff leaves behind their two young children, aged seven and two.

Since this guy was an animal activist…it is more than likely that he was murdered. Will the truth ever come out if the corrupt police/government of Uganda are investigating? Sheez, I think you better hire some private detectives…if it isn’t already too late!

What sweet looking couple. He had everything going for himself….. a lovely family, looks, personality, and a career on the rise. A shame. If poison was the culprit, it’s lucky the children and his wife weren’t killed also.

My heart goes out to his wife and Children! That’ll be particularly difficult for his 7 yr. old son to grasp that his only Dad is gone!! Hate to say this, but at least he’s got his Mom! How can a 2 yr.(till he gets older) understand that his Dad has died? That’ll be awfull hard on him! If I had a 2 yr. old, I’d show him pictures of his Dad till he got old enough to understamd. I hate to think of the Amazing Race crew and the contestants that will be very saddened because of this!!

I’m willing to bet there’s a lot more to this than just him pissing off some locals
