American Idol is planning to dedicate a week to judge Simon Cowell, according to British paper The Sun. This stems from Cowell — and the rest of the judges — frequently complaining that the contestants have made poor song choices. Host Ryan Seacrest asked Cowell why he doesn’t choose the songs himself, to which Cowell replied that he would love to do that. Each week gets a theme, wherein the singers have to choose a song by a particular composer, group, singer or era. Now, one of the upcoming themed weeks will see Cowell choosing his favorite songs for the contestants. In the meantime, eight wild card contestants compete tonight to see who makes it into the final top 12.
